Help the environment and save money with deconstruction. All of the material salvaged for re-use and recycling from your project is a tax-deductible donation to Re-use Hawai’i, a non-profit organization.
Here’s how it works when you donate material to re-use hawai’i

1. Determine if the donation value exceeds $5,000.

2. If the donation is expected to value over $5,000, choose a qualified appraiser to value the donation. Most appraisers will conduct an on-site survey before the deconstruction.

3. Once the deconstruction is complete, you’ll receive a detailed donation receipt from Re-use Hawai’i that can be used to officially report the value of the material donation.

4. Your appraiser will fill out the IRS form 8283 (non-cash charitable contribution form) which you attach to your income tax return.
