solutions for sustainability
Re-use Hawai’i began as a solution to the solid waste crisis on Oahu. At present, one third of Oahu’s waste is construction and demolition debris. With space at a minimum here on the island, almost every new construction project includes a demolition project. Salvaging material for reuse from these projects instead of just throwing them away, contributes to the sustainability of our island, and planet.
history
Re-use Hawai’i has been performing deconstruction projects on Oahu since October 2007. To date, we’ve saved hundreds of tons of material from entering Oahu’s landfills, and made this material available for reuse in our community.
The Re-use Hawai’i Warehouse had it’s grand opening in April 2009. Located in a convenient location in downtown Honolulu, the Re-use Warehouse has quickly become a treasured resource for homeowners, DIY’ers, farmers, artists, woodworkers, furniture makers, designers, and architects.
